Phone - Things to consider

Introduction
It is often seen in the UK that 90 per cent of the people change their phone service a few times in a year. This is because newer phone services are proving to be cheaper than before and there are not many hassles in switching over to a new service. However you should not switch your phone service just because other people are doing the same. You should take note of the benefits of buying a new phone connection before you finalize the deal.

Things to consider

There are a lot of factor to consider before you buy a new phone connection. Let us have a look at a few of them.

Features
One of the most important things to consider before making a switch to the new connection is the features that the new phone services gives. Also it is impractical to buy a new connection just because it comes with hundreds of features, most of which you are not going to use. Go for a phone connection having features and services that you can utilize fully. After all additional features come at additional costs.

Costs

The new service you buy should be affordable to you. You can compare the monthly expenses that you will incur through your new phone connection fro different phone companies and then choose the best plan. Also do consider what basic and additional features the phone company is providing for the monthly expenses that you wish to pay.

Additional features
Most of the phone companies today also provide additional features with the basic phone plan like call forwarding, call diverting, etc at no additional costs or at very nominal rates. So do check with your service provider regarding the additional services.

Type of service

Your type of service will depend on the amount of usage of your phone. For example if you are working in your organization with more than 50 employees, then you should go for a PBX system where you can direct the call to any employee you want at the switch of a button.

Wiring and installation

You should ask the service provider about the wiring and installation system for the new phone service. Most of the phone service companies may install the new service on the existing network. In case the new phone service does not work on the existing network, then a new network has to be installed.

Demonstration
Always ask for the demonstration of the new system before you buy it. You can visit the sales department of the phone service and then ask for a full demonstration of the phone. You can also ask for a demo of the additional features as well.

Ask your neighbours
Dont forget to ask your neighbours, friends or relatives about their opinions of the new phone system, if they are using it. Ask frankly for any drawbacks that the new phone system may have. Sometimes your neighbours can prove to be excellent advisors for your decision in buying a new phone system.
